YMusic for Mac — Download for Apple Silicon or Intel

The YMusic V4 release includes native macOS disk images for Apple Silicon and Intel processors. Choose ARM64 for an M-series Mac or x64 for an Intel Mac. Both hosted DMGs match the exact sizes and SHA-256 hashes published with the developer release.

Which Mac download should you choose?

Choose the Apple Silicon DMG when About This Mac shows an Apple M-series chip. Choose the Intel DMG when the processor line identifies Intel. The 2 files contain builds for different processor architectures and should not be treated as interchangeable labels for one file.

  1. Open the Apple menu.
  2. Select About This Mac.
  3. Read the Chip or Processor line.
  4. Match Apple M-series to ARM64, or Intel to the Intel DMG.

Rosetta can run Intel applications on supported Apple Silicon systems, but the native ARM64 build removes that translation layer from this decision. The Apple Silicon file is therefore the direct architecture match for an M-series Mac.

How can you verify the DMG before opening it?

SHA-256 compares the downloaded DMG with the published release asset without relying on its filename. A matching result proves byte-for-byte identity; it does not replace code-signing, notarization or malware analysis.

Open Terminal and run the command for the downloaded file:

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/macos-arm64.dmg

or:

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/macos-intel.dmg

Compare the full output with the corresponding value in the download table. Delete the file and download it again when even 1 character differs.

How do you install YMusic on a Mac?

Download the processor-matched DMG, verify its SHA-256 value, and open the disk image through Finder. Review the application name and every macOS security prompt before continuing.

  1. Download the Apple Silicon or Intel DMG.
  2. Compare the file hash with the table above.
  3. Open the completed .dmg from the Downloads folder.
  4. Follow the application placement shown inside the disk image.
  5. Eject the mounted disk image after placement finishes.
  6. Open YMusic from the Applications folder and review any macOS warning before approving an action.

The developer release record does not publish a minimum macOS version. Code-signing, notarization and Gatekeeper results also require a real Mac test. Do not bypass a named malware warning or disable macOS security controls merely to force the application to open.

What can YMusic do on macOS?

YMusic can play supported YouTube content as audio, keep music playing while the screen is not showing video, and save supported media for offline use. The V4 application also includes local-file playback, SponsorBlock, a sleep timer and a ten-band equalizer.

Audio-only playback avoids decoding and drawing the matching video stream. Actual data, processor and battery use still depends on the selected stream, playback mode, network retries and Mac hardware.

What changed in the current Mac release?

The Mac release notes identify lower CPU use while YouTube video plays, corrected downloads for long or emoji-heavy titles, clearer handling for expired sign-in state, and a specific network-error message for bad connections. The broader changelog also records download fixes shared by the V4 codebase.

Android-labelled fixes should not be presented as proven Mac changes. Processor support also does not establish the minimum macOS version or guarantee identical behavior on every Apple Silicon and Intel model.

Does the hosted Mac file match the developer release?

Yes. The hosted Apple Silicon and Intel DMGs match the official release assets by exact byte count and SHA-256. The server returns both files as application/x-apple-diskimage over HTTPS.

File identity answers one question: whether the hosted copy contains the same bytes as the developer asset. It does not prove notarization, runtime privacy, future service availability or compatibility with every macOS release.

Is YMusic available for Windows, Linux or iPhone?

Windows, Linux and iOS remain listed as upcoming platforms. No current .exe, .msi, Linux installation package or IPA belongs to this release. The native desktop downloads available now are the 2 macOS DMGs above.

YMusic for Mac FAQ

Yes. The macOS ARM64 disk image targets Apple Silicon processors, including the M-series family. Its SHA-256 value is listed beside the download button.

No. Intel Macs require the x64/Intel disk image. Processor architecture is decided before macOS version or storage troubleshooting.

No. APK files belong to Android. The Mac release uses .dmg disk images for Apple Silicon and Intel processors.

The release record does not specify a minimum macOS version. Avoid publishing a specific requirement until the app metadata or a real-device test provides it.

No. A matching checksum proves that the downloaded file matches the published release asset. Safety also depends on code behavior, signing, runtime permissions, account handling and later updates.
