How to Download a Playlist with YMusic on Android

A YMusic playlist can organize items inside the app. Downloaded tracks are separate files stored on the device. Removing a video from YouTube does not necessarily delete a file that already completed, while adding a new video to the online playlist does not automatically prove that YMusic downloaded it.

Check the playlist, storage and network before starting a large queue.
- Use a playlist that YMusic can open completely. Private, removed, age-restricted or region-limited items may not load.
- Scroll through the list once so the app has a chance to load all intended items. A visible playlist count should match the number expected before the download begins.
- Confirm the selected download folder and available storage. A playlist needs space for every output file plus temporary conversion data.

- Download only media that the rights holder, service terms or applicable law allow you to save.
Back up existing local playlists before clearing app storage, signing out or reinstalling YMusic. Those actions can remove local playlist records and queue state even when completed audio files remain elsewhere on the device.
How to Download a YouTube Playlist with YMusic
The playlist must first be visible inside YMusic. Depending on the current screen and account state, that can happen through YMusic search, an account-linked playlist or Android’s Share action from a public YouTube playlist.
- Open the intended playlist. Confirm its title and inspect the first and last loaded items. Do not start from a single track if the goal is to process the whole list.
- Load the complete list. Scroll toward the end and compare the visible item count with the source playlist. A partially loaded list can create a shorter download queue.
- Look for a playlist-level download action. Use the action attached to the playlist screen rather than a download control beside one song. If the screen offers only track-level actions, process selected tracks instead of assuming the entire list was queued.
- Select the output format. Choose M4A, MP3 or another offered source/custom format. The options can differ by item because YouTube does not expose the same streams for every video.
- Review the download queue. Confirm that YMusic added the intended playlist items rather than only the currently selected track. If the app requests another format choice for an individual item, treat that entry separately rather than applying one unsupported option to the entire list.
- Keep the queue active. Leave YMusic unrestricted by Android’s battery manager and keep the required network connection available.
- Check the finished files. Compare the completed-download count with the playlist count, then open the destination folder and play several files locally.
Do not assume that a single “complete” message covers every playlist item. A removed video, unavailable stream, conversion problem or storage error can fail one entry while later entries continue.
Which Audio Format Should You Choose?
Choose the format according to the players and devices that will use the files.

A 320 kbps MP3 choice does not turn a lower-quality source into higher-quality audio. It controls the output encoding and may create a larger file without restoring lost detail.
For a mixed playlist, test two or three items before committing the entire queue. The test should include an ordinary music video, a long item and any entry with an alternate language or unusual format.
Where Does YMusic Save Playlist Downloads?
YMusic saves the audio files in the download location selected in its storage settings. That location may be internal shared storage, an app-selected folder or a removable SD-card folder approved through Android’s Storage Access Framework (SAF).

- the playlist controls order and grouping inside YMusic;

Is There a Playlist Download Limit?
No current limit should be published until it is reproduced on the current build. Older community reports mention a 200-item boundary, but those reports do not establish the behavior of the hosted version now.
Even without a fixed application limit, a large playlist can be constrained by:
- free device storage;
- Android background restrictions;
- the number of items YMusic loaded before queuing;
- unavailable or restricted videos;
- source-stream changes during a long job;
- conversion and metadata-processing time;
- network interruption.
Split a very large playlist into smaller verified batches when the queue cannot be checked reliably. A smaller batch makes it easier to identify the exact item that failed and avoids repeating hundreds of completed downloads.
Why Did YMusic Download Only One Song?
YMusic downloads one song when the track-level action is used instead of the playlist-level action, when only one item loaded or when the selected screen represents a playback queue rather than the full playlist.
Return to the playlist detail screen and check:
- whether the playlist title is visible;
- whether multiple items appear beneath it;
- whether the list finishes loading after scrolling;
- whether the chosen download action belongs to the playlist or one track;
- whether the download queue contains more than one entry.
If Android’s Share menu opens only one video in YMusic, return to the playlist screen and open the complete public playlist there. A video URL with playlist context can still be handled as the current video instead of proving that the full list entered the queue.
What Happens When Some Playlist Items Fail?
A playlist download can finish with missing tracks because each item still depends on its own availability, stream and conversion path. One failed entry does not prove the entire playlist is invalid.
Use the queue or download history to separate the failure stage:

Does Downloading a Playlist Make It Offline?
Only the completed audio files are offline. Saving or following a playlist does not download its tracks, and adding a downloaded track to a playlist does not prove every other item is stored locally.
Test offline availability deliberately:
- finish a small playlist download;
- open the destination folder and confirm the files exist;
- enable airplane mode;
- play several files from YMusic’s local library;
- restart the app and test the same files again.
If the playlist screen still depends on online YouTube data, the local files may remain playable through the library even when the online artwork, ordering or unavailable entries do not load.
How Should You Resume an Interrupted Playlist Download?
Preserve the completed files and retry only unfinished entries. First restore the network or storage condition that interrupted the queue, then compare the destination folder with the playlist instead of deleting everything.

A public playlist may be accessible without an account, while private or account-library playlists require the relevant session. Use a public playlist for the first test and avoid entering credentials into any unfamiliar form.
Can YMusic export a playlist to Spotify or another service?
No verified cross-service playlist export should be attributed to YMusic. Downloading audio files is different from transferring playlist records, likes or account-library metadata to another streaming service.
