| Background play stops on Samsung | OneUI “Put apps to sleep” | Disable in Battery → Background Usage Limits | 3 min |
| “No results” on search | API rate limit or network error | Wait 60 seconds, retry; switch from WiFi to data | 2 min |
| Download fails at 0% | No internet connection | Check connection; try a different network | 2 min |
| Download fails mid-progress | Unstable connection or storage full | Check storage; switch to stable WiFi | 5 min |
| “App not installed” when updating | Package signature conflict (mod installed) | Uninstall current version; install official APK | 10 min |
| Black screen on launch | Cache corruption | Clear app cache (see below) | 3 min |
| App crashes immediately | Corrupted data or low memory | Clear cache + data; reinstall if persistent | 5 min |
First 3 checks before anything else: Is your version up to date? Is your internet working? Is the content regionally restricted? These 3 checks resolve over 80% of YMusic problems before any advanced troubleshooting is needed.

Error 403 — The Most Common YMusic Problem
Error 403 appears when your YMusic version cannot authenticate with YouTube’s current API. YouTube rotates API tokens periodically. YMusic’s developer k.dev patches within 1–7 days. The fix is always updating — not reinstalling.
“Error 403” on most videos: This is the classic outdated-version error. YouTube’s API token changed and your YMusic version does not recognize the new response format.
Fix:
1. Go to ymusic apk download on your phone’s browser
2. Download the current APK (version number shown in file details table)
3. Install over your existing YMusic — your playlists are preserved
4. Relaunch YMusic — 403 resolves
“Error 403” on 1–2 specific videos: This is NOT an API version problem. Specific-video 403 errors are YouTube regional restrictions. The video is blocked in your country. YMusic cannot override regional blocks — this is a YouTube server-side restriction, not an app limitation.
“Error 403” appeared today but no new YMusic version is available: k.dev has not released a patch yet. Wait 24–48 hours and check again. This is normal after YouTube API rotation days.
Pro-tip: Bookmark the download page. When 403 strikes, your first action is checking whether a new version is available — not reinstalling, not downgrading, not clearing cache.
Background Play Stops — Fix by Device Brand
Background play stopping mid-session is caused by Android’s battery management systems — not by YMusic itself. The fix depends on your phone brand. Standard Android, Samsung, and Xiaomi each have different battery management architecture.
Standard Android (Android 8–14, pure Android, Pixel):
Settings → Apps → YMusic → Battery → Unrestricted (or “No Restriction”)
Then check Notification permission:
Settings → Apps → YMusic → Notifications → All YMusic Notifications → Allow
Without Notification permission on Android 13/14, Android deprioritizes YMusic’s foreground audio service. The music plays for 30–60 seconds after the screen locks, then stops.
Samsung (OneUI):
Samsung has a specific background sleep setting that does not appear on other Android brands.
Settings → Battery → Background Usage Limits → “Put unused apps to sleep” → remove YMusic from the sleep list (or disable the feature)
Also check: Settings → Apps → YMusic → Battery → Unrestricted
Xiaomi (MIUI / HyperOS) — 3 settings required:
MIUI manages battery, auto-start, and data access as 3 independent subsystems. All 3 must be configured. Missing even 1 of the 3 stops background audio within minutes.
Setting 1: Battery optimization (required)
Settings → Battery → App Battery Saver → YMusic → No Restriction
Setting 2: Auto-start (required)
Settings → Apps → Manage Apps → YMusic → Autostart → Enable
Setting 3: Data saver (required on mobile data)
Settings → SIM & Network → Data Saver → confirm YMusic is not restricted
Warning: On Redmi Note and POCO series, MIUI resets the auto-start permission after major system updates. If background play suddenly breaks after a phone update, re-enable auto-start — the system update cleared it.

YMusic App Crash or Black Screen Fix
App crashes and black screens are caused by corrupted cache data — usually from an incomplete update, a storage-full condition during download, or a system update that created an APK conflict.
Clear cache (fixes most crashes — no data loss):
1. Settings → Apps → YMusic → Storage → Clear Cache
2. Relaunch YMusic
Cache clear removes temporary files. Playlists, downloaded songs, and settings are NOT deleted.
If crash persists after cache clear — clear data:
Warning: Clear Data deletes all YMusic playlists and in-app settings. Downloaded song files (MP3/M4A) stored in Internal Storage → Music → YMusic are NOT deleted — they live outside the app data folder. Only playlist records and settings are lost.
1. Settings → Apps → YMusic → Storage → Clear Data
2. Reinstall YMusic from ymusic apk download
3. Songs in Internal Storage → Music → YMusic are intact — access them via Library → Downloads
“App not installed” when installing an update:
This error means an existing YMusic installation has a different package signature — usually a mod APK. Two different-signature packages cannot coexist under the same package name (com.kapp.youtube.final).
1. Uninstall the current YMusic (Settings → Apps → YMusic → Uninstall)
2. Your downloaded song files are safe — they live in Internal Storage → Music → YMusic
3. Install the official APK from ymusic apk download
4. Rebuild playlists (your downloads are intact; only the playlist database was lost)
YMusic Search “No Results” — Causes and Fixes
“No results” in YMusic search is caused by 3 conditions: API rate limiting, network errors, or regional content restrictions.
API rate limit: Too many searches in a short time. YMusic sends search queries to YouTube’s API. YouTube throttles high-frequency requests.
Fix: Wait 60 seconds. Reduce search frequency. Rate limits lift automatically.
Network error: Search results require an active internet connection. If your connection dropped or switched networks, search fails.
Fix: Check browser loads a page. Switch from WiFi to mobile data or vice versa. If both fail, the issue is your ISP, not YMusic.
Regional content: A search for a specific artist or song returns no results when YouTube has blocked that content in your region. This is not a YMusic bug.
Fix: Search a different term to confirm YMusic is working. If other searches return results, the original search term’s content is regionally restricted.
Search works but downloads fail on all results: This is an API authentication issue — your YMusic version is outdated. Update to the current version. ymusic apk download has the current APK.
